Progress update:
Money directly invested: $0
I got the trex boards for a different project and had enough left over to cover the back steps, little causeway, and the small deck. The concrete had sunk about 3 1/2", so the last step down was too big after I leveled them.

We might get a vinyl or fancy wood one from Walmart some day, but for now I wanted to try some post and beam and see what I could do with pallets.
Check back for updates.
NEW:
$6 for pressure treated lumber and $15 for a spray gun.
